EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Our Early Childhood Education is a voluntary educational stage that covers from 0 to 6 years old. It is structured into two cycles: the first one up to three years of age and the second one from three to six years old.

During this educational stage, the work is aimed at allowing children of these ages to achieve integral and harmonious development in their affective, artistic, cognitive, and physical dimensions, strengthening their personal autonomy, and acquiring education in civic values for coexistence.

Furthermore, our center welcomes families of different nationalities; therefore, diversity is a very important value for us.

We also support each of our little ones in this process. An example of this is the linguistic immersion that promotes the learning of the Spanish language from an early age through play and social interaction. Many non-Spanish-speaking families find in our school the opportunity for a multicultural educational environment, which is undoubtedly a strength for us.

This stage also involves an approach to early initiation experiences related to reading and writing, with the promotion of basic numerical skills, musical and visual expression, and foreign language learning from early ages. For this, our school has designed its own English language strategy (Speak up!).

Our Pillars

Clases de la Educación infantil en el Centro Educativo Español de La Habana.

1- Our school, our home

Our educational spaces have been designed to create quality learning environments that foster the constructive mental activity of the child, provoke the discovery of new knowledge, promote interaction with others, and develop their skills. We want each child to find their learning path.

2- Every child is unique

Each child has their rhythm and style of maturation, development, and learning; therefore, their emotional state, personal characteristics, needs, interests, and cognitive style are elements that guide our educational practice. We provide quality personalized education adapted to their needs, as we accommodate a maximum of 15 children in our classrooms.

3- Ready to welcome them with affection and enthusiasm

Our educational project is led by a team of educators (tutors, specialized teachers, and assistants) who provide our students with individualized attention that prepares them to successfully face the next stages of the educational cycle.

Our staff members have extensive experience, along with a lot of energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and the desire to share our educational work with the families of our educational community.

4- Families play an essential role in their children's learning

We encourage the active participation of families in our educational project. We need to have open and close communication with parents, who become our partners in the teaching-learning process thanks to their collaboration and valuable contributions.

In Early Childhood Education, we aim to develop different skills and capacities through active methodologies that enhance the role of our children in their learning. As an environmentally respectful school, we encourage children to participate in the Eco-School Project and offer them various extracurricular activities that guarantee an inclusive education and maximum enjoyment.

Our goal is to achieve a natural transition to the next educational level at CEEH because, from Early Childhood Education, we want to prepare our children to confidently take the first steps in Spanish education.

Extracurricular Activities for Early Childhood Education

Children from the age of two can join extracurricular activities from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. For this, we have designed a varied offer. They develop autonomy in the "Yes, I Can" activity, learn to care for the environment through "Caring for My Pet," "Planet Protectors," and work in the eco-garden. They engage with sciences in robotics, experiments, and fun science activities.

They enjoy arts and crafts classes, ceramics, and plastic arts, as well as Spanish dance. Music accompanies them in Cuban percussion, piano, "Do Re Mi Sol" music, and singing classes. Languages are present: Spanish, English, and French for all. Developing balance and coordination is very important in mini-football, taekwondo, mini-basketball, rhythmic movement, competitive activities, dance therapy, and yoga.

Furthermore, enhancing their cognitive abilities in chess, puzzle mania, and early stimulation. They will have fun with traditional games, theater, storytelling, little cooking, and games with animals. They can share what happens at school using technology in the "Junior Journalists in Action" activity. All activities are designed to develop new skills and ensure enjoyment for the little ones, achieving comprehensive stimulation.
